St. John Paul II vocational secondary school is located in Katakala -Kide 5 miles from Mityana town along the old Mubende Road in Naama parish in Mityana district.
This was started to help children, young girls and boys who cannot afford going to the university or tertiary institutions for further learning. Most of these are Orphans others are children whose families are extremely poor to afford the high cost of education in these institutions.
Since education is a foundation and key to social- economic development of any community, we have to prioritize education if dream of a better country and good citizens. Many children especially girls drop out of school due to issues of extreme poverty in their families. Learning some practical skills will help them be innovative and contribute to self development and avoid financial dependence syndrome.
Our community largely depends on subsistence agriculture. It is extremely poor to organise sufficient resources needed to put up the necessary school infrastructure required to match with the good learning environment and standards prescribed by the government standards. That is why TDIU asks your helping hand for the success of this project.
In the past, building of schools was a responsibility of community but these days’ people are so poor that they cannot collect enough resources to build a good school that match the current standards. Building St. John Paul II, will help the vulnerable people also access quality education.
