Fundrising for a school chapel

Proposed plan for School chapel to be constructed at St. John Paul II Voc Sec Sch

Our major mission of educating morally and spiritually upright young people to grow both in faith and morals alongside the academic excellence, St John Paul II puts special emphasis to religious aspect in education. We are molding children to grow with God fearing consciences, grounded in good moral values. We offer catechetical instruction, prayer, Sacraments and liturgical practices, retreates and among others.

Unfortunately, these religious activities require at a greater extent, a good environment for prayer for mass especially. The children need to have the feel of divine presence ; they need to learn to pray in private say before the blessed Sacrament. The reverence , the awe and the Great Spirit filled participation of these activities, require that Holy space and seclusion from the secular activities.

We are therefore planning to build a chapel (Church) where students can go and pray as community but more so as an individual to communicate and this way create a deeper relationship with God. We need to construct a chapel that can accommodate at-least 1500 students with their teachers and other staff members. We currently offering two masses a week but the number we have can not fit in the mainhall and many of them sit outside. The project is estimated to cost $ 526000 and will be done in five years.
